Gerald and the Zeevonk—aka Sea Sparkle

When Gerald Broddelez sent us a video entitled “ZEEVONK”, we didn’t know quite what to expect. Then we watched it and discovered that the subject of the film is every bit as mysterious and magical as the title implies. It is a nocturnal sea creature called as Noctiluca scintillans, commonly known as Zeevonk in Dutch or Sea Sparkle in English. And while it’s probably not on anybody’s Big Five list, to see it is a spellbinding experience…and, we think, well worth Gerald missing a night’s sleep.
So awesome Gerald. Thank you. Sleep well.
